Introduction to major questions, themes, and events in African American history to understand how African Americans impacted the past and present. We’ll move from the seventeenth century to the present, focusing on the perspectives and actions of African Americans during the eras of slavery, Civil War and Emancipation, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights Movement, Black Power, the 1980s and 90s, and into the 21st century.
